Yahaya Bello reinstates chief of staff, accountant-general, commissioners

Governor Yahaya Bello has announced the reinstatement of five key government officials who resigned to contest the APC Kogi governorship ticket.
Ayoade Folashade, secretary to the state government, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
“The Office of the Governor of Kogi, Yahaya Bello, has officially announced the immediate reinstatement of five key officials in the state,” the statement said.
The reinstated officials are Jibrin Momoh (accountant-general), Jamiu Abdulkarim-Asuku (chief of staff to the governor), Yakubu Okala (auditor-general), Idris Asiwaju Asiru (finance commissioner) and Momodu Ozigi-Deedat (commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs).
“The reinstatement of the auditor-general and the commissioners were subject to the scrutiny and confirmation of the House of Assembly before they could resume their duties,” added the statement.
According to Mr Bello’s government, the key officers submitted their resignation letters in March to contest the APC governorship primary.
“Their reinstatement has been carefully considered and approved by Bello,” it stated. “We trust that the reinstatement of these officials will further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the state government in delivering its mandate to the people of Kogi.”
