10,465 Kogi students apply for Sunday Karimi’s bursary award

About 10,465 students of tertiary institutions have applied for the 2025 Senator Sunday Karimi Education Foundation and Tinubu Support Group bursary award in Kogi State.
The foundation’s Central Committee Secretary, Tosin Busuyi, stated this in a statement on Friday in Lokoja.
Mr Busuyi said the scholarship programme was aimed at supporting students from the state studying in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
He said the committee had commenced the sorting and screening of applicants to ensure a transparent selection of 3,000 successful beneficiaries.
The committee assured applicants that the process would be fair, transparent, and equitable.
He said, “After this stage, the names of the successful applicants will be published in due course. All applicants are enjoined to follow the foundation media team for selection updates.’’
He asserted the senator’s commitment to ensuring that applicants were given equal opportunities throughout the process.
The foundation announced the commencement of the bursary programme in July 2025, with a target of 3,000 beneficiaries.
The scholarship application registration lasted for one month, from August 1 to August 31.
The breakdown of the beneficiaries includes 1,390 students from Kogi West, 1,000 students from East, and 610 students from Central Senatorial District.
