The Plateau Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,500 personnel to ensure a peaceful Easter celebration in the state.

Chrisantus Longbit, spokesperson of the command, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Jos.

Mr Longbit assured residents of the state that the deployment was to ensure a hitch-free Easter celebration and not to scare people.

He said that the State Commandant of NSCDC in Plateau, Alexander Barunde, enjoined all peace loving and law abiding citizens of the state to celebrate and  to go about their normal business without fear of any form of disturbances.

Mr Longbit advised residents to report any suspicious movement of persons or group around their vicinities to the security agencies for prompt action.

He, however,  warned citizens against engaging in any act capable of truncating the relative peace being enjoyed in the state.
