2023: Peter Obi releases 72-page manifesto

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has announced the release of his manifesto titled “It’s POssible: Our Pact with Nigerians.”
Mr Obi announced this in the early hours of Sunday via his Twitter account.
“I have the honour to present our 72-page Manifesto, titled, ‘It’s POssible: Our Pact with Nigerians.’ This Manifesto, its overarching and visionary policy planks, lay out our mission focus and mandate for securing, uniting and making Nigeria productive,” the tweet read.
“I invite you to peruse the policy document,” Mr Obi added in the tweet.
The unveiling of the manifesto comes weeks after a draft copy was leaked by members of the Obi/Baba-Ahmed campaign team, at which time Mr Obi took to his Twitter account to ask the public to disregard the document that was in circulation.
Mr Obi’s release of the manifesto is a fruit of public pressure mounted on the presidential candidate after he repeatedly said he does not need a manifesto to govern the country.
“When people talk about my manifesto and my this, I have done it somewhere. I don’t need to go and start printing glossy papers. We like glossy papers, we like these things; it’s a simple thing. The country has few issues; it is not rocket science,” he said on a radio show.
The former governor has repeatedly maintained that his manifesto was his strides in Anambra State, adding that Nigeria has always had documents in more than 23 years of democracy with the problem, however, being implementation.
“They’ve been seeing documents for 24 years; haven’t you been seeing documents and conferences for 24 years?…So what is the delivery? I can show you thousands of documents, it is not about documents,” Mr Obi had said.
