Suspected Black Axe members nabbed with gun, live cartridges in Delta

Operatives of the Delta state police command have arrested suspected members of the Black Axe confraternity during a routine patrol.
The command’s public relations officer, Bright Edafe, disclosed this on his official X handle on Sunday.
According to Mr Edafe, the suspects were riding a GLK vehicle along Ibusa Road, where the command’s patrol team, on a routine stop and search operation, intercepted them and recovered ammunition from them.
He wrote, “Operatives attached to the Command’s Bufallo squad, while on routine patrol along Ibusa Road, intercepted a black GLK conveying six young boys.
“Upon searching the suspects and the vehicle, a locally made cut-to-size gun and two live cartridges were recovered,” the command’s spokesperson revealed.
Noting that although passersby, seeing officers stopping random vehicles for a search, alleged that innocent youths are being harassed, Mr Edafe stated that the investigation “revealed that they are suspected members of Black Axe confraternity.”
