Zamfara governor Bello Matawalle sacks special advisers

Following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has sacked all his special advisers expect one.
The head of service and acting secretary to the state government, Kabiru Balarabe, made the announcement in a statement on Sunday in Zamfara.
“This decision is in line with the recent decamping to the APC and to allow for an in-depth search of more but competent hands in the administration of the state, irrespective of political affiliations,” the statement reads.
“Accordingly, all the affected Special Advisers should hand over affairs of their respective offices, and Government properties under them to their Directors General and/or Accounting officers.
“The Governor appreciated their contributions in running the government while in office. The decision takes immediate effect.”
The governor however retained the services of the Special Adviser on Security Matters, Mamman Tsafe.
Mr Matawalle had in June sacked all political appointees except the security adviser, making rumours of his defection rife the. He later reversed the decision and asked the officials to return to their posts.
