No-Fly List: Immigration ready to release Modupe Odele’s passport

Modupe Odele said on Friday afternoon that immigration officials have asked her to come for her passport.
Her passport was allegedly seized on November 1 while travelling out of the country.
“I’ve been told by Immigration that my passport is ready for collection from 4pm today. I’ve respectfully informed them I’ll be there on Monday to pick it up,” Ms. Odele tweeted on Friday afternoon. “Since today is Friday, I asked for an earlier time but was told it will only be ready from 4pm today Friday.”
Nigerian authorities have faced criticism for initiating a watchlist of Nigerians who took prominent roles in the #EndSARS campaign last month. A controversial no-fly list by the government was exposed on Monday by Peoples Gazette.
Update November 8, 2020
Modupe Odele confirms she picked up her passport.
“Passport now picked up. No issues,” she said on Twitter. “I’m told I can travel at any time. Thank you so much everyone for the help and concern.”
