The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Oyo State command on Friday arraigned a 65-year-old woman, Fatima Ilori, before the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division, for allegedly trafficking 238.5kg of cannabis sativa.

Mrs Ilori, also known as Iya-Kerosine, pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of unlawful dealing in narcotics brought against her.

Consequent upon her plea, Justice Agomoh ordered the defendant to be remanded in the Agodi correctional facility and adjourned the suit until June 26 for a hearing on the bail application.

The prosecuting counsel, A.A. Balogun, had earlier informed the court that the defendant committed the crime on December 11 2025, in the Idioro-Elekuro area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

Mrs Balogun stated that the NDLEA operatives acted on a tip-off by informants that Mrs Ilori was allegedly dealing in the illicit drug trade.

She further said that the operatives arrested the woman in possession of cannabis sativa, a dried weed substance weighing 238.5kg.

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes the provision of section 11(C) of the NDLEA Act Cap N30 Law of the Federation 2004.
