Kogi: Justice Hawa Yusuf appointed as vacation judge
Judges of the Kogi High Court of Justice will commence their 2026 annual vacation on July 20. The announcement was made by the chief judge, Justice Josiah Majebi, on Tuesday.
The announcement is pursuant to Order 10 Rule 4(2) of the Kogi High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2025.
According to the announcement, Justice Hawa Yusuf has been appointed as the vacation judge.
Mr Yusuf will attend to criminal matters and urgent civil motions arising from all parts of the state, subject to the leave of the court.
Mr Majebi stated that only urgent matters would be heard during the vacation.
He added that the annual vacation would end on September 18, while normal court sittings would resume on September 21.
The chief judge assured litigants and members of the public that other services provided by the high court would not be disrupted during the vacation.
He also said that all lower courts across the state would continue to sit and render adjudicatory and other judicial services throughout the vacation period.
