WAFU-U17: Flamingos players arrive in Côte d’Ivoire

Nigeria’s female U-17 team, the Flamingos, have arrived in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, en route to Yamoussoukro for the 2nd WAFU-B U-17 girls’ tournament.

Nigeria’s female U-17 team, the Flamingos, have arrived in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, en route to Yamoussoukro for the 2nd WAFU-B U-17 girls’ tournament.

Coach Hakeem Busari led the team from Abuja on Monday morning with a squad of 20 players to compete in the tournament in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.

The girls will face Niger Republic in their opening game on Wednesday before playing the Princesses of Ghana on Saturday.

The tournament is a key preparatory competition for the girls ahead of the U-17 World Cup finals in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, where the Flamingos are in Group B with North Korea, Puerto Rico, and Poland.
