Arsenal has stripped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of his captaincy over “disciplinary breach.”

The Gunners disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, adding that Aubameyang will not be selected for their Wednesday game against West Ham.

“Following his latest disciplinary breach last week, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will no longer be our club captain, and will not be considered for selection for Wednesday’s match against West Ham United.

“We expect all our players, particularly our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have all set and agreed. We are fully focused on tomorrow’s match,” he statement read.
The club is set to announce their new captain.

For returning late from a trip abroad, Aubameyang was dropped from Arsenal’s squad against Southampton last Saturday.

Similarly in March, he was dropped from the team that beat Tottenham 2-1 for the same reason.
