Arjen Robben retires from football

Netherlands striker Arjen Robben has for the second time announced his retirement from football.
Robben, who first announced his retirement from football after leaving Bayern Munich in 2019, took to Twitter on Thursday to announce his retirement.
“Dear football friends, I have decided to stop my active football career. A very difficult choice. I want to thank everyone for all the heartwarming support!” Robben said.
Robben, 37, started his career with Dutch side Groningen, where he named player of the year in 2000/2001.
He moved to PSV and won the title and was named Netherlands Young Player of the Year.
In 2004, he signed for English Premier League side Chelsea, winning two EPL titles with the London side.
Robben moved to Real Madrid in 2007, netting 8 goals in 35 marches, winning the La Liga with Real Madrid in 2008 before moving to Bayern Munich.
With Bayern, Robben won eight Bundesliga titles, five German Cups and a UEFA Champions league in 2012/2013 season.
At national level, Robben netted 36 goals in 96 appearance for Netherlands between 2003-2017.
