Army Direct Regular Course 3 elects new executives

Members of the Direct Regular Course Three of the Nigerian Army, on Saturday, elected new executives to run the affairs of the association for a two-year tenure.
The executives included retired Brig.-Gen. Sakiru Màti as chairman, retired Maj. Paul Mbachu, as vice chairman, retired Lt.-Col. Steven Edoh as secretary-general, as well as retired Brig.-Gen. Mathew Joktan as financial secretary.
Others included: treasurer, retired Col. Yusof Bako; social and publicity secretary, retired Col. Mustapha Anka; auditor, retired Brig.-Gen. Yakabu Brown, and retired Brig.-Gen. Jeremiah Faransa, as an ex officio, among others.
Mr Màti explained that the association’s constitution stipulated a two-year term for its executive council, and the previous council’s term had expired.
According to him, due to logistical challenges, the election was delayed, but a new executive council has now been elected and will serve a two-year term from 2022 to 2027.
Mr Màti said they were looking forward to serving the association and taking it to the next level, “by God’s grace.”
Earlier, the association had donated mobility aids to wounded-in-action soldiers at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna, marking its 2nd reunion.
A lecture was organised on post-service life, themed ‘Maintaining a Healthy Living’.
