Bandits: Police screen 3,583 applicants for recruitment in Kaduna

The police command in Kaduna says it has screened 3,583 applicants that took the computer-based test (CBT) in the state for recruitment.
The command’s public relations officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, disclosed this on Thursday in Kaduna.
According to the Nigeria Police, the drive to recruit 10,000 police officers has gained momentum.
Mr Jalige explained that the force screened 3,583 applicants successfully in Kaduna between April 20 and 21.
The police selected the applicants from those who participated in the state’s last physical credential screening exercise and wrote the test at two venues within the Kaduna metropolis.
Mr Jalige also explained that the two venues that hosted the two-day screening exercise were Danbo International College, Barnawa, and the Sardauna Memorial College (ALEKWE NIG LTD).
The applicants who wrote the test should wait for the outcome of the results, which would be made public soon, he said.
Kaduna has come under several bandit attacks, including the mass kidnapping of schoolchildren for ransom.
In March, bandits breached security at the international airport in Kaduna, leaving an aviation security guard killed after opening fire on workers and passengers. Barely 48 hours after, a Kaduna-bound train carrying over 1,000 passengers was bombed and hijacked by bandits who planted explosives on the rail tracks.
