BREAKING: Fire engulfs Mobil station in Lagos

Fire broke out Wednesday afternoon at Mobil filling station located at Alakara Bus Stop, Idi Oro, Mushin, Lagos.
The station was dispensing fuel when the blazing inferno ensued around 1:17 pm. today.
A thick black smoke could be seen rising high from the roof of the building.
The cause of the fire could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report but the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service confirmed Wednesday afternoon that preliminary investigation showed that a fully laden petroleum tanker was at the site of the fire disaster.
Margaret Adeseye, the agency’s head, however, said Fire Service “is attending to a Fire outbreak at Alakara Bus Stop, Idi Oro, Mushin, Lagos.”
She added that “The Agency is mobilising other emergency responders of the State to put up concerted efforts in combating the inferno.”
According to Jubril Gawat, the digital media aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Fire Service and other emergency responders are on the ground to put out the fire.
“FIRE ALERT UPDATE: The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is attending to a Fire outbreak at Alakara Bus Stop, Idi Oro, Mushin, Lagos. #Safety #SecureLagos,” Mr Gawat tweeted.
