Brothers convicted of impersonation to sweep court
The Ota Magistrates’ Court, Ogun, on Wednesday ordered two brothers, Segun, 39 and Elijah Ogundeji,20, to sweep the court premises for three months for impersonating military personnel.
The police charged the convicts, whose addresses were not provided, with impersonation and conspiracy.
They pleaded guilty to the offence.
In his ruling, Magistrate A.O. Adeyemi ordered the convicts to sweep the court premises for three months without an option of a fine.
The prosecution counsel, Insp E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convicts committed the offence at about 5:30 p.m. on September 2 at Ijako Church area, Ota.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections 384 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
