The commissioner of police in Cross River, Gyogon Grimah, has urged hotel owners and other private business operators to prioritise the security of their business premises.

Mr Grimah, in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Irene Ugbo, on Friday, said it was important for private business operators to collaborate with security agencies in the campaign against crime and insecurity.

”Private business operators should take the security of their business environment very seriously through collaborations with security agencies.

”They should work with the police divisions in their areas of operation. This synergy is critical to effective policing,” he said.

The commissioner further urged private business operators in Cross River to invest in more advanced and technology-driven security systems.

”Installation of surveillance systems, adherence to safety protocols, and adequate profiling of employees and guests are ways in which we can better secure our business premises.

”Let us also promptly report suspicious movements and properly document valid means of identifications that are presented to us,’’ he said.

Mr Grimah expressed the command’s commitment to fighting crime and providing adequate security across the state.

He urged the state’s residents to always support the police with credible intelligence to ensure an effective fight against crime and insecurity.
