Crystal Palace unbeaten streak ends in late defeat to Everton

‎Crystal Palace suffered their first defeat after 19 games, thanks to Everton’s 2-1 win at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
‎
‎The Eagles had not lost a match since April 2025, beating and drawing top Premier League counterparts, including Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
‎
‎The London side’s 19-game unbeaten run was a club record and the longest in their history, during which they won 11 times and held their opponents to a stalemate in the remaining eight games.
‎
‎The club, which had previously enjoyed an unbeaten streak of 18 games between February and August 1969, surpassed its own previous record by one game this season.
‎
‎The Eagles, undefeated in 19 games, scored 28 goals and conceded just 12 times, while keeping a clean sheet in nine games.
‎
But on Sunday, they were handed their first defeat in over six months, ending a club-record unbeaten streak in a loss to the Merseysiders, who struck late in the game.
Palace were the better side in the first period as they controlled possession and took the lead through Daniel Munoz’s goal in the 37th minute but could not convert subsequent chances later in the game before Everton equalised in the 76th minute through an Illiman Ndiaye’s conversion from the penalty spot and subsequently found a winner before the match ended.
‎
‎They currently sit in fifth place in the Premier League ahead of their next home game at Bournemouth next Saturday.
