EkitiDecides2026: ADC governorship candidate loses polling unit to APC

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oluwadare Bejide, lost his polling unit to Biodun Oyebanji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Ekiti South-West Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Mr Bejide voted at Polling Unit 004, Ward 2, Ilawe-Ekiti, on Saturday.

Announcing the result after the voting exercise, the presiding officer, Ivingbe Eunice Efe, declared Mr Oyebanji the winner with 140 votes, while the ADC candidate secured 37 votes.

A total of 182 valid votes were cast at the polling unit.

According to the presiding officer, the African Action Congress (AAC) scored three votes, the Action Democratic Party (ADP) received one vote, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled two votes, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) got one vote.

However, the Peoples Gazette observed that results were still being collated by electoral officials at the ward level across the state.
