EPL: Aston Villa defeat Tottenham; Nottingham Forest hold Chelsea

Aston Villa beat Tottenham Hotspur on their home turf in the English Premier League on Sunday, while Nottingham forest held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw City Ground stadium.
Villa got a deserved win to make up for the defeat they suffered against Liverpool last week. However, Antonio Conte’s Spurs continue their dour post World Cup form.
Both teams went into first half break with no goals until Emi Buendia broke the deadlock, scoring for Villa in the 50th minute.
Douglas Luiz doubled Villa’s lead in the 73rd minute while Spurs failed to create a single chance throughout second half.
Spurs are now fifth on the EPL log with 30 points in 17 games, while Villa now had 21 points in 17 games.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw causing a setting back for the Blue’s top four chase this season.
Raheem Sterling gave Chelsea a good start with a half volley on 16 minutes. But the Blues could not see out a win with the lone goal lead.
Serge Aurier came to Nottingham Forest’s rescue, firing in an equaliser in 63rd minute to save Forest a second defeat after World Cup break.
Chelsea now have 25 points in 16 games, while Nottingham Forest still remain in relegation zone with 14 points in 17 games.
