Esther Kolawole wins bronze at World Wrestling Championship

Nigerian amateur wrestler Esther Omolayo Kolawole has won a bronze medal at the World Wrestling Championship in Belgrade, Serbia.

Nigerian amateur wrestler Esther Omolayo Kolawole has won a bronze medal at the World Wrestling Championship in Belgrade, Serbia.

Kolawole, 19, bounced back with a strong 9-8 win against Patrycja Gil of Poland after getting pinned in the semi finals by Kristina Mikhneva.

The medal haul continues for the Nigerian women’s wrestling team as they add to their 2021 medal haul which includes gold in the Poland World championships earlier this year and a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics which took place this summer.
