Gov. Bassey Otu of Cross River has set up a policy coordination committee that has been charged with reviewing all the policies of the government.

The chief press secretary to the governor, Emmanuel Ogbeche, stated this in a statement made available to journalists in Calabar on Saturday.

He said that the composition of the policy review committee, which comprised eminent personalities of the state, would also review extant policies in order to ensure policies and plans aligned with the current trends and best practices.

According to the statement, the 15-member committee has Fidelis Ugbo and Jake Enyia as chairman and secretary, respectively.

He also disclosed that henceforth, memos from parastatals not routed through the supervising commissioners would not be honoured.

He stated that the state data centre domiciled at the Office of the Governor was being rehabilitated to support real-time digital exchange within the bureaucracy.
