Gov Yusuf charges political appointees to uphold integrity

Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has urged political appointees and senior government officials to prioritise integrity, honesty, and accountability in their service.
The governor has also stressed that these values were crucial for building a better future for the state.
The governor made the call during a three-day retreat themed ‘Anti-Corruption, Financial Fraud, Transformational Leadership, and Ethical Values in the Workplace’, jointly organised by ANHI Consultants International and the Kano State Government in Kaduna.
According to a statement by the governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, Mr Yusuf emphasised that every action, decision, and policy must reflect the values of transparency, honesty, and accountability.
The governor warned that corruption was directly harming the poor and vulnerable, adding that the people of Kano were increasingly impatient with unfulfilled promises and demand a government that works for them.
He further stressed that government success depends not only on policies but also on the integrity and professionalism of those tasked with implementation.
Mr Yusuf urged the participants to remain courageous and committed to doing the right thing.
The retreat concluded with the presentation of certificates and a group photograph session, with notable attendees praising the governor’s vision and leadership.
