Amidst growing tensions of ethnic violence between the Yoruba and the Hausa, four northern governors on Monday evening travelled to Ibadan to hold a meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde.

Recently, there was a violent clash between Yoruba and Hausa traders at Shasha market in Ibadan.

The visiting governors were Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi; Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano; Abubakar Bello of Niger and Bello Matawalle of Zamfara.

The governors arrived at the Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, at 7:00 pm and went into a closed-door meeting with Mr. Makinde.

A source at the meeting told journalists Mr. Makinde would lead the visiting governors to the Shasha community, for an on-the-spot assessment of the market, and meet with various stakeholders in the crisis, to arrive at amicable solutions.

Also, present at the meeting were the Special Adviser on Security to Mr. Makinde, Fatai Owoseni; Special Assistant on Community Relations (Arewa Community), and Ahmad Murtala.
