Ikeja DisCo reduces Band A tariff to N206 from N225 per unit

In April, the electricity distribution company increased the tariff for its Band A customers by 300 per cent from N68 per unit to N225 per unit.

Ikeja Electric has reduced Band A tariff to N206 per unit after weeks of uproar from Nigerians following an earlier increment to N225 per unit one month ago.

“Please be informed of the downward tariff review of our Band A feeders from N225/kwh to N206.80/kwh effective 6th May 2024 with guaranteed availability of 20-24hrs supply daily,” the Ikeja Electric said in a statement on Twitter.

It added, “The tariff for Bands B, C, D, and E remains unchanged.”

In April, the electricity distribution company increased the tariff for its Band A customers by 300 per cent from N68 per unit to N225 per unit, a move that drew widespread condemnation from Nigerians as they face unprecedented economic hardship.
