Israeli forces hit Damascus neighbourhood, says Syria

Israeli forces have struck targets in the Syrian capital Damascus, the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency reported on Wednesday.
“Israeli aggression targets the Kafr Sousa residential area in Damascus,’’ SANA reported, without further details.
Residents in the area told dpa they heard explosions and that fire was seen in apartments in a building next to a school.
Other buildings and cars in the area were damaged due to shrapnel.
The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said this was the 13th Israeli attack on Syria this year.
Kafr Sousa was hit by Israel a year ago, leaving around 15 people dead.
Israel had, in the past, bombed targets in Syria with the goal of hitting Iranian forces based there.
Israel aimed to prevent Iran and its allied militias from expanding their military influence in the country.
Israeli attacks have increased since the Gaza war began in early October.
