Kano: APC welfare secretary resigns, to join ADC days after Kwankwaso’s defection

Bashir Maisango, the welfare secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Kano, has resigned from his position, as he is set to join the African Democratic Congress.
This comes barely a week after Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso and Nasiru Gawuna, the APC 2023 governorship candidate in the state, joined ADC.
Mr Maisango said his resignation was voluntary in a letter addressed to the party’s chairman in Kano.
“I, Bashir Tijjani Maisango, hereby voluntarily resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective April 1, 2026,” Mr Maisango stated. “I appreciate the opportunities the party has given me and wish the APC well.”
