The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State command, has reaffirmed its commitment to deeper collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force to boost security and combat crime across the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the corps public relations officer, SC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, on Friday in Kano.

The statement said the Kano State commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammed Hassan-Agalama, made the commitment during a courtesy visit to the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu-Bakori.

Mr Hassan-Agalama said the visit was part of ongoing efforts to reinforce inter-agency cooperation and deepen operational synergy among security agencies in the fight against crime and criminality.

He stressed the importance of cooperation, intelligence sharing and joint operations, while appreciating the support and contributions of the police to NSCDC operations in the state.

The commandant reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to close collaboration with the police and other security agencies to protect critical assets, lives and property, and sustain peace across the state.

According to him, enhanced collaboration among security agencies would help curb crimes such as vandalism, thuggery, phone snatching and other emerging security threats.

He commended the police command under Mr Adamu-Bakori for its efforts in tackling crime, adding that the NSCDC would continue to benefit from the wealth of experience of the police in maintaining public safety.

Responding, Mr Adamu-Bakori welcomed the NSCDC commandant and commended the corps for its complementary role in maintaining law and order.

He assured of the police command’s readiness to sustain and strengthen existing partnerships through intelligence-driven operations and coordinated security strategies.

He stated that effective security management required collective efforts, stressing that no single agency could address security challenges alone.

The statement said that both security chiefs agreed to maintain open communication channels, conduct joint patrols where necessary, and support one another in operational engagements to improve security across the state.

The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs between the heads of the two security agencies.
