Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi has turned the state into a massive construction site, with landmark projects springing up across key sectors.

Kingsley Fanwo, the state’s Commissioner for Information, said in a statement on Thursday  that completion of the multibillion-naira audit house, one of the biggest in the country, is set for inauguration.

He noted that the Ododo-led administration has also embarked on extensive road projects across the state, many of which were being executed by the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency (KOGROMA).

“Ododo’s infrastructure drive is equally evident in the education sector, where massive facilities are being developed at Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) and its Teaching Hospital, as well as the Prince Abubakar Audu University Teaching Hospital and the newly established Kogi State University, Kabba.

“In education, healthcare, roads, and housing, Ododo has left no one in doubt about his determination to change the face of Kogi through infrastructure.

“What we are witnessing is a clear testimony of a leader committed to laying solid foundations for sustainable development,” he said.

The commissioner assured that the administration would continue to prioritise projects that directly improved the lives of Kogi people and strengthened the state’s economic base.

He stressed that the massive infrastructural development has yielded benefits, including creating an environment for economic prosperity and wealth among the population, as well as rendering services to the construction works.

Mr Fanwo said the governor had been able to put into judicious use the improved revenue made possible by the revolutionary reforms of President Bola Tinubu.

According to him, the people at the grassroots are feeling the impact of good governance through the state government’s free education policy, free examination registration, Health Insurance Scheme, improved healthcare facilities, and agricultural revolution, which has driven down food prices across the state.

Mr Fanwo also hailed the immediate past governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, for laying a solid foundation that his successor is building on.
