Lagos arrests 17 persons for ignoring pedestrian bridge

Officials of the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps and the Kick Against Indiscipline have arrested 17 people for not using the pedestrian bridge.
Making the disclosure on Wednesday on his official X handle attached with three videos of the nabbed suspects, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said they were arrested earlier in the day.
He wrote, “17 persons were earlier today apprehended by the officials of @LAGESCOfficial (KAI) at Palmgrove, Ketu, Ojota and Mile 12 for not using the pedestrian bridge.
“25 street traders were arrested at Ikorodu, Jibowu, Ojuelegba, Outer Marina, Victoria Island and Ikate for violating the Lagos State environmental law,” the commissioner added.
He stated that the suspects had been charged to court for prosecution in accordance with the state Environmental Management and Protection Law 2017.
