The Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Lateef Ashimi, has urged all aspirants contesting federal constituency positions to maintain peace and prioritise the collective interest of the party.

Mr Ashimi made the appeal on the sidelines of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election held in Somolu on Saturday.

He said the unity and success of the party must remain above all personal ambitions.

The council chairman urged all aspirants to accept the outcome of the primary election in good faith.

According to him, the APC has continued to distinguish itself as a disciplined and democratic party that promotes internal cohesion and peaceful engagement.

Mr Ashimi also called on party members and supporters to conduct themselves responsibly before, during, and after the exercise.

He added that violence or any act capable of disrupting the process would not be tolerated.

The chairman commended party leaders and electoral officials for ensuring a transparent and credible exercise.

He said the process reflected the maturity and strength of the party at the grassroots level.

Mr Ashimi stressed the need for aggrieved aspirants and their supporters to remain committed to the APC, regardless of the outcome of the primaries.

He also called on party faithful to rally behind all duly elected candidates ahead of the general elections.

He said unity and cooperation remained essential to the continued progress and development of Lagos State.

The council chairman expressed confidence that the APC would emerge stronger after the primaries and continue to deliver quality leadership and good governance.

“APC victory is assured in the forthcoming general election,” he said.

He added that the primary election signaled that the 2027 general elections would be peaceful and orderly.
