Lawmaker distributes foodstuffs to 2,000 households in Zamfara

Kabiru Maipalace (PDP-Zamfara) has commenced the distribution of foodstuffs to 2,000 households in the Gusau and Tsafe Local Government Areas of Zamfara under his economic intervention project.
Mr Maipalace, chairman of the House Committee on Sports Development, represents the Gusau/Tsafe federal constituency.
Speaking at the distribution exercise in Gusau on Monday, the lawmaker said the gesture was aimed at enhancing the welfare for the people at the grassroots.
Mr Maipalace, who was represented by his secretary, Mustafa Hassan, said the gesture was aimed at providing succour to his constituents, considering the economic hardship faced by many vulnerable households.
He said that each beneficiary would receive a 50 kg bag of rice and a packet of spaghetti.
“We procured thousands of packets of assorted food items to make lives of my constituents easily. We are targeting no fewer than 2,000 households from various groups of people in Gusau and Tsafe LGAs,” he added.
According to him, the beneficiaries comprised vulnerable persons, less-privileged households, youths and women groups, politicians, religious as well as community leaders.
He said, “This is part of my project to enhance socio-economic activities of my constituents.”
Some of the beneficiaries, Salamatu Ishaq and Aminu Muhammad, who spoke to journalists at the event, expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for easing their socio-economic lives.
