Senator Istifanus Gyang (PDP/Plateau North) has called for tight security around traditional rulers in Plateau, following the release of Gwom Rwey of Vwang, Da Gyang Balak by kidnappers.

Mr Gyang made the appeal on Tuesday, via a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media and Protocol, Ibrahim Ashoms.

Recall that a traditional ruler in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau, was abducted on Sunday close to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos.

The senator who condemned the kidnapp, said security should be beefed up around traditional rulers as they had become targets of kidnappers.

“Security agencies should tighten security around traditional rulers in the state in view of their increasing vulnerability,” Mr Gyang said.
