Lukaku seals loan move to Inter Milan after underwhelming return to Chelsea

Chelsea and Inter Milan have reached an agreement to see Romelu Lukaku return to the San Siro on loan next season.
Inter Milan will pay a loan fee of €8 million, but the transfer is still subject to him passing the medicals.
There is no buy option in the contract, and Inter Milan does not have any obligations at the end of the loan.
The Belgian striker moved to Stamford Bridge last summer for a record £97.5 million, but has failed to live up to expectations, scoring eight goals in twenty-six premier league appearances.
In a controversial interview granted on Sky Italia in December 2021, Lukaku said, “I really hope in the depths of my heart to return to Inter, not at the end of my career, but at a good level to hopefully win more.”
Lukaku moved to Inter Milan from Manchester United and scored 64 goals in 95 games, helping the Nerazzurri to a first Scudetto since 2010.
