Naira Marley opens up on his daily marijuana intake

Marley who enjoys a cult-like followership among young Nigerians is notorious for airing his views on issues without let or hindrance.

Controversial singer, Azeez Fashola, known professionally as Naira Marley, took to social media on Friday to share his daily marijuana intake.

The “Mafo” and “Koleyewon” crooner began by tweeting: “loooool wait retweet if you think I only come on Twitter when I’m high”

He then dropped a shocking revelation in a subsequent tweet, saying he inhales an ounce of the outlawed substance daily.

“Loooooooooooooooool I’m actually always HIGH, 28grams a day, that’s 1ounce 😂😂😂😂 wait, who asked me again?” He said.

Both tweets garnered thousands of reactions from Marlians, his ardent fans in the comment section.

Marley who enjoys a cult-like followership among young Nigerians is notorious for airing his views on issues without let or hindrance.

His music has become synonymous with lewd lyrics as much as songs promoting sex and smoking, which he speaks brazenly on his social media accounts.

Naira has had to endure several brushes with law enforcement agencies for his troubles. Last year, he was arraigned in a Lagos State mobile court last year, over Covid-19 health violations. He is also in a legal battle with anti-corruption agency, EFCC over allegations of internet fraud.

His statement comes hours after Peoples Gazette reported the House of Reps move to legalize the production and use of Marijuana for medical reasons.

The proposal; “A Bill for an Act to Regulate the Cultivation, Possession, Availability and Trade of Cannabis for Medical and Research Use and Related Purposes.” passed its second reading at the lower house this week.

Naira Marley was recently nominated for the 2020 Headies awards, with his song ‘Mafo’ as Best Street-Hop Artiste, after his removal from the nominations list at the 2019 awards, based on the morality of his music.
