The Nigerian community in the United Kingdom is seeking financial support for the family a 35-year-old Nigerian man, Nelsom Omega Ekeobong, who reportedly died in his sleep on Saturday.

The community in a post on Facebook said Mr Nelson’s death came as a shock to his family and friends, as he was not known to have been ill before his death.

It stated, “His passing came as a devastating shock to everyone, as he was not known to be ill. He went to sleep and sadly did not wake up.

“Brother Ekeobong leaves behind a loving wife and two young children. His untimely departure has left his family, friends, and the entire community heartbroken.”

The community also appealed to Nigerians in the UK to support the bereaved family in this difficult time.

The post read, “We are calling on everyone to contribute towards raising funds to give our dear brother a befitting burial and to help ease the burden on his grieving wife and young children.”

It added that no contribution was too small, noting that every donation, no matter the amount, would make a meaningful difference and be deeply appreciated.

The community urged compatriots in the UK to support the family with prayers, love and comfort at this period.

It prayed for strength for the deceased’s wife and children and for the peaceful repose of Mr Ekeobong’s soul.
