Peaceful protests have rocked some parts of the country as the demand for justice over the death of music star, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, who passed on last Tuesday, intensifies.

The peaceful demonstrations across the country came days after protesting youths took to the streets of Ikorodu, Lagos on Saturday, to express their dissatisfaction with the singer’s passing.

The strange demise of Mohbad, who was buried on Wednesday in Ikorodu, had attracted accusations to Marlian Records owner and singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, as well as popular socialite, Sam Larry.

In a video that circulated online, protests rocked the streets of Panseke in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Tuesday. They stormed the skating ground arena in black wears and displayed placards with inscriptions like #JusticeforMohbad, #WhoOfLight, etc.

In another video, protesting youths gathered around Delta Mall, Effurun Road, Delta State on Monday, also displaying placards that had inscriptions demanding for justice for the slain Mohbad and an end to Marlian music.

Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, had in an Instagram live session on Monday, called for protest to be held on Tuesday or Wednesday, as she urged parents and youths to join her in the protest.

A post sighted on Instagram, has also revealed that protests will start today at Paneke Skating Ground, in Akure, while the Lagos leg of the protest by celebrities led by the actress, will hold on Wednesday at Elegushi beach, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The management of the late musician had also announced on their social media handles that a candlelight procession and tribute night in his honour will hold on Thursday, September 21, 2023, by 5 p.m. at Lekki Phase 1 Gate, while the tribute concert will start by 8 p.m. at Muri Okunola Park, in Lagos.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State police command has disclosed that it had launched a 13-man special investigation team to probe Mohbad’s death.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, called on the State Security Service (SSS) to assist in the investigation in unravelling the circumstances that led to the death of the late singer.
