Some Nollywood actors have been found rooting for the purported 2023 presidential ambition of former Lagos governor, Bola Tinubu.

Though he has not yet officially declared his intention, reports abound of Mr Tinubu’s subterranean moves to emerge Nigeria’s president at the next general election. Support groups and political jobbers have thus been jostling to have a slice of action.

In a video trending video on social media, the likes of Mr Ibu, Harry B. Anyanwu and other prominent Nollywood stars, were seen in a meeting-like setting bannered “South West Stands for Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The veteran actor Mr Ibu, was seen addressing the audience and appreciating a yet to be identified individual, saying “Oga make God bless you, make God keep you.”

“So the reason for which we came here, make person no change o”, he said before going completely   inaudible deliberately by whispering till the end of his  “brief” speech.

Another actor, Harry, presented his own speech in form of rap: “I don hustle, I don waka tire, I don suffer defeat searching for a better life and wetin man go eat. We still dey hustle with smile and dey hustle for show but na only God know the truth and the men wey go blow.”

On November 3, a select group of skit makers visited Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the State House.

Comedians such as Taooma, Josh2funny, Woli Agba, Mr Hyenanaand others who attended the jaw-jaw were seriously criticised online by young Nigerians who believed they sold out to politicians who are seeking to manipulate their influence to curry support for their political interests in 2023 elections.

Similarly, Nigerians have now taken to social media cast flaks against the Nollywood stars’ recent gathering.

Many young Nigerians are unhappy with the ruling government over what they describe as unfriendly economic policies and unabating brutality against youths by the police and other security forces.
