Police arraign Ogun resident for assault

A 31-year-old man, Dada Adekunle, has been arraigned before the Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for stabbing the complainant with a broken bottle on his right hand.
The police charged Mr Adekunle with assault.
Prosecution counsel E.O. Adaraloye told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 9:00 p.m. on October 15, at Abule Aparadija, via Cele Bus-Stop, Ayetoro, Ota.
Mr Adaraloye told the court that the defendant stabbed Adejumo Ezekiel during an altercation.
He said the offence contravened section 335 of the Criminal Code, Law of Ogun,2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The magistrate, A.O. Adeyemi, admitted the defendant to N500,000 bail with two sureties.
Ms Adeyemi said the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun government.
She adjourned the case until November 10 for further hearing.
