Police nab suspected cultist over alleged shooting of Osun convenience store owner

The police command in Osun State has detained a suspected cultist who allegedly shot a convenience store owner in Ede.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Adeoye Adeola, who made the disclosure in a statement on Thursday in Osogbo, said the suspect was in detention.
Mr Adeola said the suspect allegedly shot the victim for asking him to pay for an energy drink he purchased.
The police spokesperson said, “On Saturday, at around 9:00 p.m., the suspect visited the complainant’s shop in the Bihari/Ishola area of Ede, Osun, and purchased an energy drink for N500. He then requested the complainant to lend him N400 so he could transfer a total of N900. The complainant obliged.
“However, when the complainant did not receive the expected credit notification for the N900, he went to inform the suspect. To his shock, the suspect pulled out a cut-to-size pistol from his bag, shot him in his left hand and right arm, and fled the scene. Upon receiving the report, the police, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, tracked the suspect to his hideout and arrested him. A cut-to-size pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from the suspect as evidence. The suspect, who confessed to being a member of the Alora cult group, will be charged in court after the investigation is completed.
