Ramadan: Lawmaker calls for prayers to overcome Nigeria’s challenges

The politician called on wealthy Muslims to use the Ramadan to support the less privileged in society.

Speaker of Nasarawa House of Assembly, Ibrahim Abdullahi, has urged Muslims to intensify prayers for Nigeria to overcome its plethora of challenges ahead of the success of the 2023 elections. 

In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, the speaker congratulated the Muslim community for ushering in this year’s Ramadan.

He also called on wealthy Muslims to use the Ramadan to support the less privileged in society, and to enable them observe the holy month with ease.

Mr Abdullahi enjoined Muslim believers to use the period to also offer special prayers for the country to overcome its security and other emerging challenges.

The speaker also called on Muslims and other Nigerians to pray for the success of the country’s leaders. According to him, “this is to enable Nigerians enjoy more dividends of democracy.”
