Rape Allegation: Police hand TikToker Mirabel to Ogun women affairs ministry

The Ogun State Police Command says TikToker Abigeal “Mirabel” Nsikak, who was in its custody after a rape allegation, has been released to the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
The state police public relations officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, in a statement on Wednesday, said the development followed consideration of her welfare and support needs.
In consideration of her welfare and support needs, she has been released to the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
“The ministry has undertaken responsibility for her care and has assured the command that she will be made available whenever required as investigations continue,” Mr Babaseyi said.
He said the TikToker was also cooperating with investigators, following a rape allegation she made online days ago. Mirabel had alleged that she was sexually assaulted in her apartment, but later admitted the allegation was false.
Mr Babaseyi said she was taken to a medical facility for a necessary examination after presenting herself at the police station.
”Upon her visit to the police station, she was received and taken to a medical facility for necessary examination to verify her claims.
”She has continued to cooperate with investigators as due process progresses,” he said.
Mr Babaseyi urged the public to refrain from speculation and to allow investigations to run their full course.
”The command assures the public that the matter is being handled with professionalism, sensitivity, and diligence.
”Members of the public are urged to refrain from speculation and allow the investigation to run its full course. Further updates will be provided as necessary,” he said.
