Save APC in Oyo from implosion, aspiring lawmaker urges party leadership

Bolaji Tunji, House of Representatives aspirant on the All Progressives Congress platform in Oyo, has called on the national leadership APC to save the party from impending implosion in the state.
Mr Tunji, who is seeking to represent Ogbomoso North/South/Oriire Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, made the call on Friday in Ibadan.
The aspirant in a statement urged the national leadership to wade into the crisis in Oyo before its imminent implosion.
Mr Tunji, who is a veteran journalist, and a former Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, said the state party risked mass defection if the national secretariat refused to act fast to address the crisis.
He said the recent defection of Joseph Tegbe to the Peoples Democratic Party was a call on the national leadership to wade into the APC crisis or risk further exit of other prominent members.
The aspirant said “Many are dissatisfied with the present scenario, believing that the national leadership, especially the previous Caretaker Executive was complicit in the crisis in Oyo APC and other states chapters.”
The aspirant advised the newly inaugurated national executives to quickly intervene and resolve the crisis, calling on warring groups to be ready to shift grounds to accommodate each other.
