The Kano State Sharia Commission has appealed to the residents of the state to intensify fervent prayers in the light of the security challenges facing the state and the nation at large.

The appeal was made by the commission’s chairman, Abbas Daneji, during an interview in Kano on Friday.

Mr Daneji stated that prayer remained the strongest weapon of a Muslim, recalling how Prophet Muhammad was delivered from his enemies through prayer.

He expressed deep concern over the growing number of kidnappings for ransom, describing the acts as an injustice and a violation of Islamic teachings that forbid harm to individuals or communities.

He urged the residents to remain calm and to seek divine intervention, expressing confidence that persistent prayers would bring an end to the security challenges.

Mr Daneji extended the commission’s condolences to the people of Tsanyawa LGA, the Kano government and the wider public over the recent abductions by armed criminals.

He also prayed for the safe return of the victims and divine protection for the state and Nigeria in general.
