Super TV CEO Ataga: Chidinma, others charged with conspiracy to murder
Chidinma Ojukwu, the prime suspect in the murder of Michael Ataga, and two others on Monday appeared before a magistrates’ court in Yaba, Lagos.
Court documents show that Ms Ojukwu, Adedapo Quadri, and Chioma Egbuchu face a felony count of conspiracy to murder, murder, and conspiracy to commit forgery in connection to the murder of the former Super TV CEO.
The prosecutor, Cyril Ajifor, told the court that a prima facie case had been established against 21-year-old Ms Ojukwu and the two others.
Mr Ajifor said the suspects’ offence went against sections 233, 222, 411, 363, 329 and 370 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
The presiding magistrate, Adeola Adedayo, granted that four persons out of five people arraigned before the court for obstructing justice in the matter be discharged.
The police had arraigned Onoh Ojukwu, Babalola Disu, Egbuchu Chioma, Abayomi Olutayo and Ifeoluwa Olowu before the court.
However, the DPP advised that all the defendants, except Ms Egbuchu, be discharged by the magistrate.
Ms Egbuchu will continue her trial for having the deceased stolen phone.
The magistrate adjourned the matter till September 29 for further hearing.
