Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old suspect charged with the murder of Brian Thompson, the chief executive of UnitedHealthcare, was reportedly found with a notebook outlining plans for the fatal shooting.

The discovery added a disturbing layer to the case, as the notebook allegedly contained a blueprint for the December 4 attack during UnitedHealthcare’s investor day in Midtown Manhattan.

According to CNN, one chilling passage read, “What do you do? You wack the CEO at the annual parasitic bean-counter convention. It’s targeted, precise, and doesn’t risk innocents.”

The notebook reportedly highlights Mr Mangione’s grievances against corporate executives, describing them as “parasitic” and hinting at a broader vendetta against what he saw as corruption within the healthcare industry.

The New York Times reports that a New York Police Department internal report revealed that the suspect viewed the killing as a “symbolic takedown.”

The report, which included excerpts from a three-page manifesto found with him at the time of his arrest, stated that the suspect “likely sees himself as a hero taking a stand against perceived injustices” and warned of the potential for others to view him as a “martyr and a figure to emulate.”
