“The decision of the lower court to proceed with the judgment despite the express order of this court is the highest form of judicial impertinence,” it said.
Mr Adebayo, in a statement on Tuesday, said there was no constitutional or legal basis for restricting political parties’ activities through administrative or judicial action.
The court ordered INEC not to allow the parties to participate in subsequent elections, including the 2027 general polls.
He said the date reflects the belief that citizens’ voices matter.
“There is no vacancy in Aso Rock. What is happening today is the handiwork of the opposition,” said Mr Okpebholo.
Mr Okwu said the exercise was in response to the demands of their governorship candidate, Herman Hembe.
Mr Gombe’s lawyer, Lukman Fagbemi, SAN, argued that the defendants had not placed any evidence before the court to justify the grant of the application.
He said it is inconsistent to condemn electoral malpractice while also praising its efficiency in other places.
It also approved the results of the state Houses of Assembly and National Assembly primaries, except those with pending appeals as of May 29.
“Let me warn again that any further attempt to interfere in the affairs of the party by the presidency, INEC and judiciary will be fiercely resisted,” said Mr Abubakar.
