Mr Adeleye said the suspects were arrested where robbery and kidnapping usually occurred in the LG.
“The ex-convict claimed to be a drug dealer who also engaged in robbery activities,” he said.
Mr Adeleye said the late governor was a dogged leader who fought for the South-West region.
The Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Amotekun Corps, says it arrested 12 suspected kidnappers and armed robbers in Ondo.
Adetunji Adeleye, commander of Amotekun in Ondo State, made this known on Monday in Akure.
The traditional ruler of the community, Ademola Olanipekun, who spoke on behalf of the victims, said the ransom demands by the kidnappers were alarming.
Mr Adeleye said the failed portion of the road, which shares border towns and communities with Edo State, had fuelled insecurity.
“We have also posted our men around the financial institutions to keep vigil at the banks and ensure there’s no security threat in the state during this yuletide period.”
“Our personnel will be deployed to all blackspots observed in Ondo state, especially in Akure.”
“We rearrested a young boy we arrested three years ago and took him to a juvenile home for illegal possession of firearms and robbery.”
