Ms Ekama said the area she lived in, Kubwa does not get a power supply for 10 hours daily and that some consumers still bought at the old tariff rate.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company has attributed a power outage in Kubwa and environs to a technical fault at the Kubwa transmission station.
According to AEDC, the grid failure occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, affecting the power supply to its franchise area.
The members lamented the blackout and overbilling, supporting the need to summon the managements of AEDC and NAePA.
The management of AEDC tendered the apology in a notice to its customers in Abuja on Thursday.

AEDC has attributed the power outage experienced in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to its faulty 33kV NIPP feeder.
According to him, some barracks and cantonments have been in total blackout since January.
The AEDC said it would commence disconnection of the Presidential Villa and other MDAs that have failed to pay their bills by February 28.
