Police said the riot broke out following a rivalry amongst the youths of Anguwan Taya and Yalwan Ysakani.
The Muslim extremists were protesting an alleged blasphemous message by a 40-year-old female employee of Warji LGA.
“The result of the autopsy is being awaited, the outcome of the investigation will be made public, please,” explained the police spokesman.
The latest attack came barely 24 hours after bandits attacked Yadagundume village in Ningi LGA killing three persons and injuring one other.
The police recovered six audio MP3 players, two face-caps, four pairs of shoes, four wrist watches, one hat and one torchlight from the corpse.
The lecturer, Abubakar Muhammad, was a senior staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.
“The suspected kidnappers had an encounter with the auditor-general they shot him in an attempt to whisk him away.” Mr. Wakil said.
